09 Nov Indoor Activities for Kids in Barcelona
As the cold weather approaches, it’s getting harder to tempt some of our kids outside to play! Luckily, Barcelona is home to some of the best indoor play centres; here’s three fantastic options to try out this Autumn.
The biggest science museum in Europe, Barcelona’s Cosmo Caixa boasts a wonderland of interactive activities for children, a mini Amazon rain forest (plus alligators, snakes, and birds!) and a newly opened planetarium. Toka Toka is a popular activity where kids can touch different interesting animals; Clik is a workshop exhibit of touch, smell and discovery for ages 3 to 6 years. The museum is located on Carrer d’Isaac Newton, 26, with opening hours of Tues-Sun 10am–8pm. Entry price €4.00 for Adults, Under 16 years and La Caixa bank clients, FREE. Tickets can be reserved online at https://obrasociallacaixa.org/en/ciencia/cosmocaixa/que-hacemos

Even the best Nannies and parents need an hour to themselves, and this brilliant indoor play centre is the perfect place to take a break! Kids will be wonderfully occupied by the slides, talk tubes, kid-sized kitchens, pretend food, creative play zone with Legos, physical activity zone, and sandbox… leaving you free to relax in the café with free wifi. The Play Area is currently open Tuesday to Friday from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 14:00 pm and again from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Want to play too? At El Cau grown ups join the fun with their youngest children in this beautiful play space. A 20 meter passageway full of interactive games, slides and hanging clothes is the favourite play zone at the centre! Other areas are full of soft materials and toys to stimulate psychomotor activity. There are different hours for older and younger children, and this spot is particularly popular at weekends; make sure you book in advance online at http://el-cau.cat/. Located on Carrer Villarroel, 237, opening hours Mon-Fri 10.30am-1.30pm, 4.30pm-7.30pm; Sat, Sun 11am-2pm, 5pm-8pm; Sun closed. Tickets are between €4 and €6 per child.
